Bond Masters is a self-paced course for the do-it-yourself investor who has some basic knowledge of bonds & wants a framework for building a bond portfolio.

The overall focus of this course is on individual bonds issued by the US government, agencies, municipalities & corporations, although we will have some videos on bond funds & some other alternatives as well. 

Please note that basic knowledge includes, but is not limited to:

• How a bond works & foundational terms such as fixed income, face/par value, market price, interest/ coupon rate, auction vs secondary market, callability, current yield, yield-to-maturity, yield-to-call, yield-to-worst, etc.
• The difference between Treasuries, agencies, munis & corporates as well as inflation vs non-inflation-protected bonds, etc. &
• The fundamental risks of bond investing (e.g., credit risk, interest rate risk, reinvestment risk, liquidity risk, etc.)

Please note that while we will provide some important considerations & bonus tips on retirement accounts, the decumulation phase & taxes, this will all be within the context of how to build a bond portfolio & is not a full retirement plan. This course is also not intended for institutional investors, financial advisors, bond traders and/or anyone interested in investing in foreign debt.

The live online course sessions are one (1) hour each.

There will be four (4) live online course sessions per year. At the moment, we expect these live online course sessions to take place in March, June, September & December. 

You will receive an email notification prior to the scheduled live online course session date. 

The replay will be available afterwards in the Bond Masters course area for viewing at your convenience. 

If you have questions as you work your way through the course, you can pre-submit them before the quarterly live online course session via a link that will be provided in the live online course session email notification. Pre-submitted questions will generally be answered in the priority they were received & within the allotted live online course session time frame. If there is time remaining, we will do our best to answer the questions received from the live online course session chat in the order they are received.
